MIG Welding Gloves

MIG welding generates the highest heat, and it also requires the least amount of dexterity due to the simplicity of the process. This is why MIG Welding gloves are made from a medium to thick leather and are fully-lined to provide the highest level of heat and spatter protection.

MIG welding gloves tend to have a looser fit and additional padding on the back of hand for additional protection. This design allows a welder to easily remove the glove if it becomes too hot. Both of these features may reduce manoeuvrability in the finger area, but this is notoften a concern, as the welding technique relies on wrist rather than fine finger movements. 


TIG Welding Gloves

The TIG welding process requires a high degree of dexterity to feed the TIG filler rod into the weld pool, because of this, TIG gloves must be able to consumes high levels of heat but also lower levels of spatter, and more dexterity.

TIG welding gloves are made of thinner leather than MIG welding gloves and have a snugger fit to ensure the maximum level of flexibility and dexterity. Unlike MIG welding gloves, TIG Welding gloves are not always lined. If they are lined, it will be the back of hand and cuff only to offer additional heat protection
